Neither presidential candidate will make the controversial political decision to cut government spending, especially entitlements or defense, nor will either substantially raise taxes on the middle class. So, the Fed will end up launching its largest QE program yet, sending consumer prices soaring. The government will keep getting bigger and Americans will pay the cost through higher prices.  The inflation tax is the cruelest and most expensive way to finance the government.
